Snow, Glorious Snow...

It has snowed SOOOO much today! This morning we got up and got ready to go to church. I was really dragging my feet because of how much it had snowed in the night and it was still snowing. I loath going out in the snow, especially in a dress! However, we pressed forward and got ready BUT just as we were literally walking out the door Scot decided to check his messages and lo and behold there was a message from a man in the ward saying that church had been canceled because of the "deteriorating weather conditions." WOW! That never ever happens! We were shocked to the say the least but a little relieved that we wouldn't have to go out in the snow and risk our lives, even though we did miss getting to go to church this week of course! Here is what we are looking at:

This is the tippy top of our 12 inch ruler about to be covered in snow! The weather guy on KKTV says that we could see at least 2 feet before the snow stops this evening. They are usually SOOOO off so I don't really believe him but lets face it if we woke up to 2 feet of snow I wouldn't be too heart broken if I couldn't get out of my driveway and not have to go to work tomorrow!!!!!

Here is Scot urging the clouds to break lose and let 'er rip so we can stay home and be couch potatoes tomorrow!! Oh the bliss it would be...(It's nice to dream...)

COME ON MOTHER NATURE, DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO!

Big Ol' Church Bag...

I am the Young Womens secretary for our ward and along with this particular calling comes lots of...stuff to carry around on Sundays. So to make things a little easier I decided to make a bag to carry all of this...stuff in. I have had bags in the past for Sundays that I would carry all of my teaching materials in when I was in Young Womens and Primary before but was never fully satisfied with their carrying ability. As of late I have become completely OBSESSED with Amy Butler's patterns/fabric/stationary/scrapbooking supplies, etc. Pretty much all of her products are amazing to me so when I found out that a store in Castle Rock sold her patterns and fabric I hurried over to check it out. I found this pattern for the Birdie Sling and asked the owner a few questions about it and decided to try it out. Her patterns are super easy to follow and there are lots of instructions which is EXACTLY what I need to get through some of these things so I really really like her patterns for that fact. She has gorgeous fabrics and I can't wait to get another pattern and start another project!
I LOVE sewing! I am not great at it and I definitely need to work on my straight lines but it gets my mind off of the stress of work and is a fun way to just let my mind wander to another place...

Scot was kind enough to be my model...

Here is the inside. It looks kind of weird from this angle. There are two pockets on the inside in there...

Ta-da!

Glenwood Springs!

Earlier in the week I had asked Scot if he wanted to go up to Glenwood to swim in the hot spring or go walk around Vail and Aspen on Saturday just to get away for the day and hang out. He said "sure." So that night we kind of forgot to talk about it and the next day we talked about it in passing but by Thursday we had pretty much decided not to do it and get some things done around the house instead. On Saturday morning I had gotten up before Scot and was downstairs working on some things when he came down surprisingly early. He asked me if I was hungry and I said "Sure." We decided to have French Toast and Scot asked me to get out of the eggs. So I walked over to the fridge and got out the eggs and when I opened the carton our itenerary for our hotel in Glenwood was in there. What a fun surprise!! So we hurried up and put everything we had gotten out away and went up stairs to pack and get ready to go. We were out of the house an hour later and headed up to Glenwood for a great weekend getaway! We only had one set back with a flat tire which we were luckily able to get fixed for free just in the nick of time and we were good to go.

Here we are with the hot spring in the background. It was sooooo COLD!

And here is Scot in the Pool...

Thanks for a great weekend Scoty!!

It's a Boy!

This lady at Scot's work told him that she had a dream one night that we were going to have twin boys. That got us thinking and we decided to go to a website that fuzes your pictures together to show you what your future children will look like. Here is what we discovered:

After careful consideration we have decided that it would be a horrible mistake to ever have children. We will save mankind by not bringing these sweet spirits to the earth.

(In all honesty we do wish to have children someday we just sincerely hope that they are cuter than these two little angels)

Happy Birthday Erin!!

Today is one of my best friends in the whole world's birthday! Erin was one of my first roommates at good old Royal Crest Apartments when I went to Ricks College for my first semester and at first I was a little intimidated by her but once we got to know each other better we became instant friends! She is one of my favorite people. We usually try to get together at least once a year or so and do fun things like go to Las Vegas and Disneyland! Erin, I hope you have a fabulous birthday!! Miss you!!
