Weekend in California...

My wonderful husband surprised me with a plane ticket to California to visit my family for the three day weekend and it couldn't have come at a better time. I have been sort of stressed about my job lately and just needed to get away from all the madness. It was a great time to see my family and get my thoughts back in order. Here are some highlights from my trip...

So there are two things that I MUST do when I go to visit my mom and dad:

#1. Go to Zehnders and get a Medium Cotton Candy shaved ice. Zehnders is a local yogurt shop ran by a family that lives in Elk Grove and I have been going there since Junior High. I get a Cotton Candy shaved ice EVERY time. I remember I had to pass it when I walked home from school so me and my friend would save our lunch money so we could get a shaved ice to walk home with. It's the Best!!

See how happy it makes me? CHEESE!!! (Unatractive picture, I know but you get the idea. HA.)

#2. All I have to say is In-N-Out Burger. I love love love In-N-Out Burger. It so scrumptuous. I always get the cheeseburger meal with no onions and a coke. Their fries are soooo stinking good. They use real potatoes, not processed powder like McDonalds. Scot doesn't get it. He doesn't thinks it's that great...booo. I think it's a must.
Here is something super scary. I just couldn't pass up taking a picture of this. It's shocking! LOOK AT THE GAS PRICES! Holy cow. What is this world coming to? I almost had a heart attack the other day when I filled up my car. It's insane!!
OK back to my weekend, on Saturday my aunt and my cousin came down for breakfast and then we did some shopping. I love going shopping for scrapbook stuff when I am in California because they have some great shops that get really neat stuff that the stores around here don't get so it was fun to spend the day with them.

On Sunday there was a party at my Grandma and Grandpa's house for my cousin who just graduated from high school. No one knew I was in town so it was really fun to surprise everyone! Here are some pictures...

Cousins!! Congratulations Sam!!

Cousins...

Here is Carly pointing out the dead chicken for me in the back field. YUM! Who's hungry?

Sam getting ready to cut his cake... Thanks Scot for a great weekend! I wish you could have come. It just wasn't the same without you!

Happy Birthday Christin...

...Sunday! So I know this is a little early but I won't be around this weekend to do it. I just had to wish a VERY Happy Birthday to one of my dearest friends, Christin. We have been friends forever and ever and ever and now we live far apart and it's hard to keep in touch but she is still a wonderful friend and I feel very lucky to have her in my life! We had some fun times together, we were kind of silly but I couldn't have asked for a better friend to get advice from, laugh with, cry with, eat with, or watch Maury with (HA!). Love you girl, and miss you tons!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I knew a David was going to win!

OK so last night I went in to watching American Idol with the attitude that I really didn't care who won. They both rocked on Tuesday night which made me realize that they are both very talented and it didn't really matter who won because they are both going to go on and do great things, but lets face it when I heard the results I was so happy for David Cook! They both totally deserved it but I was really rooting for David C. More than anything I am just happy to move on with my life. I am ready to move on to So You Think You Can Dance and Bachelorette. I don't have time for American Idol anymore. Jeez...(By they way if you look really closely at the picture above David's little hairy belly is hanging out of his shirt, I wonder if he knew that was happening. Blah. It's OK though you still sing good. Something else funny about this picture is look at Hernandez to the right, he's like "I hate you, that should have been me!!!")

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband! I can't believe it's been 3 years! I feel so lucky to have such a great husband who does so much for me! I can't imagine my life without him and I am so grateful to have him in my life. It's been 3 wonderful years and I look forward to many many more.

We were going to go to our favorite restaurant ever The Melting Pot for dinner tonight but Scot actually got really really sick and had to stay home from work today so we are going to celebrate officially on Saturday when he is feeling better.

Happy Anniversary! I love you!

Josh Turner and Carrie Underwood

OK so there is ONE good thing about working where I work and that is that sometimes we get the chance to win cool tickets to different events happening around The Springs and that's just what happened on Tuesday. Both me and my Mother in Law won tickets to the Carrie Underwood concert at the World Arena. Josh Turner who we LOVE opened for her. What a great concert! I just love Carrie Underwood. She seems so genuine and down to earth and she doesn't dress trashy which is hard to come by these days. It was a great night and we had a lot of fun!

Josh Turner (all of my pictures of him are pretty bad. I am definitely not a great photographer) This was probably the first concert I have been to that I didn't want to shoot myself after the opening act was done. Ha!

Here is Scot and I waiting for Carrie to come out...
Carrie Underwood...she puts on a fun concert. She's just so darn cute, my husband is totally in love with her. Ha. Oh well as long as I can have my Patrick Dempsey it's alright...

Good concert! If you ever have a chance to see her take it!

No Surprise...

So American Idol was really no big surprise to anyone tonight I don't think. We all knew it was going to be battle of "the David's" and that Syesha would be out, although she is super talented and would have deserved to be in the top two. Now don't get me wrong David Archuletta is super cute and endearing but he is almost too shy for the business he is pursuing When I watch him I feel ackward sometimes. But he is EXTREMELY talented and I really like him, how could you not? Basically I would be happy if either one of them win. I think they are both FANTASTIC but if I had to call it right now I think David Cook will take it, but we will see. And those are my thoughts on American Idol tonight...
(sorry about the teeny tiny picture. I tried to find bigger but it just wasn't happening)

Huge Twilight Fan Right Here...

Alright folks. Yes it's true. I am a huge Twilight fan and all I have to say is if you have read the books Rock On, if you haven't, where the heck have you been? Just kidding. Anyway I have completely fallen victim to Twilight Mania and I am not afraid to admit it and for any of you other self proclaimed Twighards out there don't act like you aren't excited and here is a link to the trailer of the movie coming out in December. Can't Wait!!!!
