It is SOOOOOOO time to update. It's been forever. Our lives just haven't been all that eventful , but things are starting to pick up again...so here we go...
On Friday afternoon we set out to drive to Idaho to go to Scot's cousin Jonathon's wedding in Rexburg. It was so nice of my in laws to let us drive over with them. The trip over went really smoothly until we got over the Jackson Pass and in to Idaho. It was almost midnight and we had just changed drivers in Pinedale so Scot was driving and I was on deer watch. We were in between the towns of Driggs and Victor, ID and it had gotten pretty quiet in the car because we were all exhausted. I was trying SO hard to stay awake and do my job as deer watcher but I finally subconsciously gave in to my eye lids and closed them. Just as I drifted off I heard Scot yell "MOOSE!" My eyes flew open and all I saw was the brown, hairy torso of a moose running in front of our car. Scot slammed on the brakes and swerved to the side and just as the moose crossed to the other side of the road a car going in the other direction hit the moose square on. We heard the impact and pulled off to the side. We all just kind of looked at each other like "did that really just happen?" and then we all opened our car doors and got out. Scot and my father in law ran up the road to the car that hit the moose and my mother in law started walking up the road as well. I turned around to see what was around me and all I saw was BLACK and I thought "OH NO, I'm outta here." So I turned off the car, locked the doors and ran up beside my mother in law. The details of what we saw aren't important nor are they appetizing but it did have an enormous impact on me and how close Heavenly Father truly is. How he protects us and loves us. It reminded me that I need to keep him close and in my life at all times and to always go to him for protection and guidance. We are so happy to say that the people in the other car are going to be OK. The passenger was hurt pretty badly but the EMT said that he would be OK. It could have been a lot worse and we are glad that it wasn't. We wish only good things for them and hope they are able to continue with their lives as normal. We were all very blessed that night. After this experience my advice to anyone reading this is to not drive long distances at night. We have been doing that a lot lately going back and forth to weddings and we are so glad that we have been able to attend these events but we think from now on we will drive as far as we can in the daylight and then stay somewhere over night and then drive the rest of the way the next day. It may take longer but it is so much safer!!!
On to happier things...On Saturday morning we went to Jonathan's wedding at the Rexburg Temple. It was a beautiful ceremony and the weather was perfect...
Here are the happy newlyweds...

Scot and me at the temple with Rexburg in the background...ahh we miss this place!
After the wedding we had a little bit of time before the luncheon so Scot and I decided to walk down to campus to go to the bookstore. We made a little stop in the gardens...oo la la...
(You can barely see us on Patsy's porch swing.) The stinkin' bookstore wasn't open so we walked through the library for old times sake and then walked down to Porters my favorite craft store EVER. It was just like old times. We decided it's no wonder we were skinny when we lived there because we walked everywhere. Now that we sit at desks all day and eat snacks and we're too tired to do anything when we get home that's all gone to pot!!
The reception was in Bethany's beautiful backyard garden. When we got there we did a little bit of exploring and my cute sister in law Katie caught a frog in their little pond. Scot didn't think she would do it but he was impressed when she caught the little bugger...Rock on lady!
Got him!
Congratulations you guys!

I am so grateful that you guys weren't hurt on Friday night. I DID get to hear the gruesome details, and I know that the Lord was watching over you. I don't know what we'd do without you. I love you both so much and I am so grateful you are okay.
I love you Jenny! You and Scot are so amazing!! I'm so grateful that you guys missed that moose!! Just stay way from Mom and Dad on those trips, They attract large 4 legged animals like you wouldn't believe!! Maybe we should see if they qualify for a world record!
I wish I had not hear all the gruesome details. I nearly passed out while Jenny shared the story on the phone. Thank you Scot for having quick reflexes. I'm glad you made it to the wedding and back home safely.
I'm so glad you guys are safe. That is really scary. Congrats to Jonathon on getting married. Jenny your outfit was super cute as always.
