A couple weeks ago we were able to go to South Dakota with my parents to see Mount Rushmore and other various parks and attractions in the area. We left after work on Friday and met them in Cheyenne, then drove up the rest of the way on Saturday. We had a great time and it's definitely one of those things that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime! Very cool.
Here we are at the South Dakota sign...I guess Scot couldn't decide if he was hot or cold...
One of the first things we did after eating the WORST lunch of all time was go to Custer State Park and see the beautiful scenery. The loop we were on had a bunch of one way tunnels which my mom was totally hating so we had to pull over so she could catch her breath. Ha ha ha. Funny lady.

We stayed in this really nice suite in Hill City but it was really funny because there was this huge hot tub right in the middle of the living room. We just thought it was hilarious so we had to take a few pictures.

The next day we went to Mount Rushmore which was the best part of the trip by far...

On our way back from a town called Deadwood where Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickock are burried we ran in to these guys in Custer Park! Wild Donkeys and they surely were wild...and scary....
Scot's lovin' it...
The next day we went to Keystone, South Dakota and walked around the town and after that we went to Bear Country USA which was really awesome. Here is Scot in the car with his creeper face...

The baby bears were soooo cute climbing in the tree...

Later on that night we went back to Mount Rushmore for the lighting ceremony which was really cool. They do a little program and then light up the mountain while everyone sings the national anthem. Really neato.
The rest of the weekend was filled with swimming at the hotel, taking naps and enjoying each others company. Oh and eating CRAPY food. Small town eating...not for me. After that it was time to head back to Colorado Springs. My parentals were able to come back and spend the week with us which was really cool. We got to take them to the Flying W Ranch for dinner one night and they went and did some cool things while we had to work. It was a great couple of weeks and we were sad to see it end! Love you guys!
