Let the Fun Begin...

OK so it all started about two weeks ago. Our lease is up on this house and we have been kind of going back and forth for a while now on what we want to do with our lives as far as do we want to renew our lease?, or do we want to move back in to an apartment to save some money?, we really want to move to Utah sometime in the near future so we were seriously looking at that as most of you know and still plan to make that move some day, or should we try to buy this house? We were oh so confused and just couldn't decide. Well we talked about it and talked about it until we were blue in the face and finally decided that we wanted to meet with the real estate company that we are renting from and see what they wanted for this house and kind of learn a little more about the process of buying a house. So we had a meeting with the owner of the company a couple of Mondays ago and it went great! He talked with us for about 1 1/2 hours about the process of buying a house and all of the many elements that go in to that and he was very informative and answered all of our many questions that we had since we have never done anything this HUGE before. At the end of the meeting he told us to start by meeting with a mortgage company that he really liked to work with to see if we could even be approved for a loan so the next week she called us and began the process of checking our credit and all of that good stuff and we found out about three days later that we were approved! So we are well on our way to buying this house and we are super stoked about it! There are still lots of steps to take in this whole process but the first step has been made and it should be exciting what the future holds for us...More updates to come...

Fox Run Park...

OK so yesterday in Colorado was a beautiful day! It was clear blue skies with LOTS AND LOTS of sunshine. This is something we have soooo been waiting for so after we got home from work we changed our clothes and drove a couple miles up the road to Black Forest where there is a park called Fox Run Park. We love this park! We were there a lot last summer so when there was finally a good day to go we were stoked to go up there. There are lots of little trails to walk and things to see. Here are some pictures of past trips to Fox Run last summer...

And here is our most recent trip to Fox Run. Even though yesterday was a beautiful day it was still a little too early to take a walk up there. There was still lots of snow and MUD as you can tell by the pictures of my piglet feet...

Eeeewwwww....Oh and yes, I know it wasn't very smart to wear flip flops but I love them so sue me.

Anyway, it was fun to get out of the house for a little bit and enjoy the beautiful day and one of our favorite places!

Leeann and Jay's Wedding

Cruisin' Colorado!

Alright folks, it's the moment you've all been waiting for (well maybe not but anyway...) here are some pictures of our new car. Now this is the last car we would have ever thought of buying but just as we were ready to leave the dealership they brought this beauty out to us and when they told us what it was going to cost us we just couldn't pass it up. It has everything Scot wanted such as a sun roof, leather interior, seat warmers, low miles, good gas mileage, etc. so we feel like we got a steal. It's really funny too because ever since we bought the car about a week and a 1/2 ago whenever we see a PT Cruiser we always have to speed up to catch up with them so we can see if it's old people or young people driving it and suprisingly we have seen quite a few young folks driving them. Ha! The best part of the whole deal is that when we test drove it there were these big nasty decals on the side of the car that looked like paint splatter and on the back it said Cruisin' Hard, luckily they were able to remove this and we were very glad for that! So now whenever you see someone rockin' the PT Cruiser you can think of us and how cool we are in ours.

Hot dogs have to go to church too...

Today started out like any other Sunday. We were running slightly late for Sacrament Meeting and I was scurring to prepare my primary lesson. As we arrived at church we saw something we never thought we would see in the parking lot. What we saw was so hysterical that we could not let this opportunity pass us by without proper documentation. I made Scot turn the car around so we could go home to get our camera and here is what we saw:

We laughed all the way home and all the way back to the church. It totally made our day. I teach the CTR 5/6 class and one of my kids said to me in class "today when I came to church I saw a big hot dog in the parking lot." I said "I did too, that is so silly."

Happy Valentine's Day!

We had a great Valentine's Day! It started off with Scot pulling me from my meeting at work to bring me some beautiful red roses for me to enjoy at my horrendously lame and obnoxious job. I especially like the red vase they came in!

After that we finished out our work day and Scot picked me up (since we only have one car right now) and we went home and opened little gifts. Now, Scot knows that Valentine's Day isn't my most favorite holiday in the world and usually we talk about our spending limit when holidays such as this come around but this year we didn't really talk about it so me being the oblivious person that I can be thought that maybe he had finally gotten the hint and that I was in the clear this year. So I decided to make him a little something from the heart and let me tell you I was so proud of myself thinking that I was doing something so nice for him and he wasn't doing anything for me. Well I of course was wrong. Here is what I did:
(Look at him being all cute and pretending to love his gift)
Here is a closer look. They are fortune cookies made out of felt and inside each one are the top 10 reasons I love Scot. Awwwwww. Anyway here is what he did:
I felt a little shmuckish (is that a word, oh well). He's such a thoughtful and fantastic husband. I love him. Well, after that I made him some delicioso enchiladas that we ate on our AWESOMELY cute Valentine's dishes and we had a nice little dinner.

THEN we went to the movies. We had planned to see Fool's Gold but it was sold out so then Scot wanted to see Jumpers but there weren't very many seats left which means we would have been in the front row so we saw 27 Dresses.
What a cute movie! We loved it. I love Katherine Heigl though. I am pretty sure I am biased however since Grey's Anatomy is my all time favorite show in the world and I have been so sad since it hasn't been on for the last few eons or so.

Anyway needless to say we had an out of this world Valentine's Day and I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful husband that I love so much!

Happy Valentine's Day! (yesterday)...

I Got Tagged!

I got tagged so here we go...

What is your husband's name?
Scot Wayne MacCabe

How long have you been together?
We dated for 2 1/2 years and have been married for 2 years and 9 months so over 4 years. WOW!

How long did you date?
2 1/2 years

Who eats more?
Unfortunately, I'd probably have to say me. Dangit.

Who said I love you first?
Scot did at Rigby Lake of all places and I think I was kind of shocked so of course as usual I made it sort of an ackward situation.

Who is taller?
Scot

Who has more speeding tickets?
Oh, that would be me even though he does deny going to traffic school! Ha.

Who is smarter?
Scot for sure.

Who is more sensitive?
Honestly, I'd have to say he is. I have the most caring husband in the world! He's wonderful.

When there is a fight who usually wins?
I definitely wouldn't say that anyone wins. In the end it usually comes out in a compromise or solution that both of us are happy with so no one wins or loses.

Who does the laundry?
I'd say we both do. I tend to like to do it just because I am picky about it but if I ask him to throw a load in or switch it out he is really good about it.

Who does the dishes?
Same answer as above, we both do the dishes. He is a fantastic guy I tell ya.

Who sleeps on the right?
It depends one which way you look at it but that would be Scot in my opinion and that's only because that's the side that the door is on and I told him when we moved in that he could have that side so the burglar can have him first. Ha.

Who pays the bills?
That would be Scot. He has a little system down and I wouldn't want to get in the way of that.

Who mows the lawn?
Supposedly the Home Owners Association but I probably saw them a total of 2 times last summer. They do a pretty good job though.

Who cooks dinner?
It's 50-50. Most of the time we cook together so no one person cooks more than the other. Otherwise usually Chik-fil-a cooks for us, or Qdoba or Chilis and sometimes even Texas Roadhouse cooks for us. That's always a good time.

Who drives when you are together?
Scot, I hate to drive (I conuquer Mitzi)

Who is more stubborn?
Me FOR SURE, No contest!

Who kissed whom first?
Scot kissed me first after a very loonnnng time so if there was a question on here about who is more patient I would have to answer me because I waited forever for him to hold my hand, I waited forever for him to kiss me, I waited forever for him to decide that he wanted to marry me! Jeez.

Who asked who out first?
Scot asked me out first. We went to the Haunted Mill in Rexburg, ID and I clothes lined myself on a pipe trying to run away from scary monster or something. That totally wasn't embarassing or anything.

Who proposed?
Scot did. It was perfect and I could not have been happier with the way it turned out even though it didn't go as he had planned!

Who has more siblings?
Scot does, he has 4 sisters and I am an only child.

People I am tagging: Jennifer, Merilee, Katie and Leeann

Air Force Hockey Game!

We were just Air Force sporting event machines last week. On Friday night we were able to go to an Air Force Hockey game up at the academy with some friends. Of all the sports there are in the world I have to say that hockey is my favorite. It's easy to follow, the players fight with each other and they have cool uniforms. What more could you want? Anyway it was a good game. They played against Bentley (whoever that is) and it ended in a tie! At the end of the 3rd period the score was tied so they had a 5 minute intermission and then they played a 5 minute penalty (ya totally don't think that's the right terminology but it's staying) round but both teams scored a point by the end of the 5 minutes so they ended it in a tie. Here we are before the game...
