Greetings from Camp Granada...I mean Cascade...

Recently Scot and I decided it was time for the first camping trip of the summer. We wanted to go somewhere new so we pulled out our trusty Best Colorado Campgrounds book and picked an area with a few campgrounds that looked good and headed up. Honestly I'm not the best camper but Scot sticks it out with me and I stick it out with him because I know he loves it. If it wasn't for the bugs, the dirt, the bathroom situation and the pure dirtiness of it all I would probably really like it...I do love the relaxation, sleeping in, eating and reading that I get to do though. Anyway, 'nough bout that...bring on the pictures!

Getting ready to go on our .5 mile hike. That doesn't sound like much but going uphill in that altitude...Oh and as a side note...this is the one thing that I absolutely can't stand...Scot and I go on quite a few hikes during the summer and EVERYWHERE we go there are people there with dogs which is fine, great and dandy...except that it's NOT! Wanna know why? Because people in Colorado think it's a great idea to go on hikes with their dogs and not put them on a leash! That is my biggest pet peeve people! PUT YOUR DOG ON A FREAKING LEASH...just thought you all should know how I feel. Scot gets to hear about it EVERY time we go on a hike. He's probably going to quit asking me to go if I keep it up...

...sang as they walked and walked and walked and waaaaaaalked...

Dizzy...but totally worth it...Oh and I know that I look amazing...I will give you my camping beauty regimen in a bit...you'll probably want to get a note pad to write it down.

Scot in shape and feelin good...

Relaxing in the hammock...

We also drove up this beautiful pass. The road was pretty bumpy but we had a lot of fun.

We almost made it to the end but when we got out to see if we could get around this HUGE snow pile (yes folks, snow in June...only in Colorado) there was a creepy gun guy and we pretty much just decided to get the heck out of there and head back...I feel that this would be a good time to also tell you about how I get this sexy look even in the wilderness...it is a combination of wet ones, grease and funk. It's pretty tricky but you all can totally make it work too. Oh baby...

Stopping for a photo op by the river/creek/crick...whatever it was it was pretty!

Great weekend and I'm sure there will be plenty more where that came from!

That was funny. I like camping too, in a cabin. I've become more high maintenance in my old age and I don't like tent camping. I could settle for a 5th wheel camper. But that sounds like it was fun. Plus way better without an 18 month old. I think we will try to leave Corbin at home when we go to Redfish this year.

How fun! It looks like you had a great time and I can attest, with complete certainty, that Jenny always looks fabulous even when we've been camping for days. And who's the hot babe you are both posing with in that one shot of the waterfall?
