Living the LIfe You Dream

Yesterday I had to go to Denver for a seminar for work and one of the classes I took was called Escape from Mediocrity: Living the Life You Dream. We all have this ideal and picturesque life that we dream of when we're daydreaming at work or just before dozing off after a long day where if money were no object, no one depended on us and we had no obligations we could make this dream a reality. Luckily money is an object, people do depend on us and we do have obligations becuase these are the things make us who we are and remind us that people love us. However this short 60 minute class taught me that our ideas and passions can become more than just a dream. We can take small steps each day toward making our dreams a reality. She talked about living your life to the fullest and making changes so that you are happier. I got more out of this class than any other classes I took on I-9's and customer service or employee benefits. This class was about us and realizing that we have a life and we have dreams beyond the four walls of our offices, that we need to take those dreams seriously and make them happen, we need to do what we are passionate about. Now I know that I will probably never have my dream of owning my own scrapbook store where all I have to do is pick out the inventory I want in the store and have employees to do all the hard stuff for me but I could make small steps towards taking more time each day to enjoy my hobby. I often get so caught up in the every day hustle and bustle that I don't take the time to enjoy this part of my life and maybe if I did I could relieve some of the anxiety and stress of the day and become a more well rounded person and who knows maybe start off selling some stuff online!

I have a wonderful life right now with an amazing husband who I love very much and I can't imagine my life without, wonderful family members, a beautful house, friends, I am EXTREMELY lucky and I know that but as most of you know, I do have a less than perfect job that doesn't always bring out the best in me so I love it when something really gets me excited about making changes and doing something to change it up a bit and make me see that it's up to me to do something about it!

At the end of the class she showed us this video about a regular guy named Paul Potts who followed his dreams, who didn't have a lot of confidence but took a chance on something he loves and that he is passionate about. Hopefully this will inspire you like it did me to live your life to the fullest and always follow your dreams!

I love Paul Potts. Did you cry when you watched it? I was totally crying the first ten times that I watched him. He is quite remarkable!

Jenny! You know I was looking through old room mate pictures the other day & came across one of you standing on the table where I tv was supposed to be after the roommates melted a hole in it... Good times. I'm so glad to have found you! Check me and my hubby out at http://www.thebuckleybunch.blogspot.com/
